South Eastern Trust gets prestigious quality award for excellence in coronary CT imaging

The Department of Radiology in the South Eastern Health & Social Care Trustxa0has been awarded the prestigious HeartFlow Quality Award for Excellence in Coronary CT Imaging for a second time.

This recognition demonstrates the department’s commitment to providing outstanding cardiovascular imaging services and commitment to patient-centred care.xa0 The department previously received the award in 2021.

The HeartFlow CT Quality Award recipients are selected based on metrics that evaluate the quality and implementation of a practice’s cardiovascular imaging program.

xa0xa0xa0xa0Delighted with the prestigious award for coronary CT imaging are Dr Michele Crawford-Jefferson (Consultant Radiologist), Kerry Filmer (Radiographer) & Irim Farooq (Radiographer) from the Department of Radiology in the South Eastern Health & Social Care Trust.

The HeartFlow Analysis is an innovative approach that transforms data from a patient’s non-invasive coronary CTA into a personalized, digital 3D model of the patient’s coronary arteries.

This advanced technology leverages sophisticated algorithms and analytics to provide detailed insights into coronary artery disease, enhancing diagnostic accuracy and patient outcomes.

The Department of Radiology has consistently demonstrated excellence in cardiovascular imaging through attention to detail, adherence to best practices and the integration of cutting-edge technologies.

This award highlights the department’s ongoing efforts to stay at the forefront of medical advancements.

Delighted that the department was presented the award for the second time, Interim Radiology Services Manager, Jayne Hutchinson, said: “We are extremely proud of this achievement.

“The award recognises our CT Cardiac Team’s dedication and ongoing commitment to the provision of outstanding quality imaging to help improve the quality of our patients’ care and the efficiency of their imaging pathway.”

Congratulating the Radiology Department on receiving the award, Director of Surgery, Elective Care, Maternity & Paediatrics, Maggie Parks added: “I am delighted the Radiology Department has been awarded the HeartFlow Quality Award for Excellence in Coronary CT Imaging for a second time.xa0
