The second event, which was held in Carnagat, included workshops, crafts, photo exhibitions, artefacts and a range of fun day activities.

Newry Mourne and Down District Council Chairperson, Councillor Charlie Casey said: “I was delighted to attend the event held at Carnagat to mark Irish Traveller Pride Week. The travelling community has a rich history and tradition that needs to be more widely recognised, appreciated and understood.”

Both events were supported by the Slieve Gullion and Newry DEA’s, and were delivered in partnership with the Council’s PEACE IV progamme, Newry Confederation of Community Groups, Carnagat Community Association, Traditional Arts Partnership and Meath Traveller Workshop.
