Ulster-Scots Writing Competition Closing Soon

If you can speak in Ulster-Scots then you will be able to write in prose or poetry in whatever farmat takes you to enter in this year’sxa0Linen Hall Ulster-Scots Writing Competition.

The rich cultural heritage of the Ulster-Scots community across Northern Ireland and in Scotland is celebrated in this fun literary event.

There are two competition categories you can enter in: prose and poetry.

This competition is a platform for young and not so young writers who want to show off their fluency and verve in Ulster-Scots.

Both categories have a super £500 cash prize for the winner, and one runner-up from each section will receive£250.xa0

And during Ulster-Scots week in November 2024, the lucky winners will be revealed.

Their poems and prose will then be published in a special edition anthology.

Entrants for both prose and poetry competitions should submit their work byxa0Friday, 30 August at 5pm.xa0
