Down Arts Centre in partnership with ArtsEkta will host a free pop up art workshop called ‘The Gathering Place’ on Friday 30 June from 12pm to 4pm. The sculpture will feature at Artsekta’s Mela Festival in August.
This workshop is funded by Arts Council of Northern Ireland and Down Arts Centre is looking for community groups to take part. Participants will be given the opportunity to form the walls of the space by creating an individual panel using their medium of choice.
Artsekta will be working with artists to help design and build the ‘Gathering Place’ structure, using the individual panels and joining them together to form the outer surface of the installation.
