I would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank the committee of Dundrum Village Association for hosting two recent annual cross-community events in Dundrum village.
Firstly the annual cross-community Christmas tree switch on which took place on Friday xa07 December and was sponsored by the Community Relations Department of Down District Council. xa0Despite a bitterly cold night the event was well attended by children and adults who enjoyed the entertainment and arrival of Santa Claus to switch on the Christmas tree lights.
Secondly the annual senior citizens cross-community Christmas lunch which took place in the Dundrum Inn on Saturday 8 December and was sponsored by Dundrum Development Association. All senior citizens who attended xa0enjoyed the afternoon including the musical entertainment and christmas gifts.
Both cross-community events were a tremendous success and it is a credit to the committee of Dundrum Village Association who worked for a number of months to organise and plan both these annual events for senior citizens, adults and children of Dundrum to enjoy.
