Teenager Charged After Downpatrick Stabbing

A 16-year old teenager has been charged to court following Downpatrick stabbing

Police investigating a stabbing incident in the Ardmeen Green area of Downpatrick on Wednesday, 1st October 2025, have charged a 16-year-old boy to court.


He is charged with attempted grievous bodily harm with intent, common assault and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.

He is due to appear before Newtownards Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 3rd October.

As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.

A 21-year-old man arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, criminal damage and possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence has been released on bail to allow for further police enquiries.
