Celebrate National Marine Week and discover delicious wild food on your doorstep with Ulster Wildlife and Forage Ireland. On Tuesday 4 August, find out what’s good to eat – and what isn’t! – in Dundrum Bay, and learn more about the wildlife of our truly wild, but accessible, shores.

Many people in Northern Ireland have tried foods that can be foraged along our coasts, such as blue mussels and dulse, but there are plenty more delicious plants, seaweeds and animals to be found. A lot of foods can easily be foraged responsibly, providing tasty, healthy meals for us without harming our coastal ecosystems.

This coastal foraging workshop will involve a guided walk to collect wild food and learn more about the shoreline’s wildlife, and participants will then cook some of the food together – followed by a tasting session, of course!

Edible finds will likely include leafy greens such as sea beet, a variety of seaweeds, and some shellfish. The event will run from 10am-1pm and costs £10 per person. Booking is essential – to book, please call 028 9046 3126 or email:
