Support The Community Planning Consultation Says Clarke

Mourne’s Sinn Féin Councillor Willie Clarke has urged the community to make their opinions known in regards The Draft Strategic Community Plan for the Newry Mourne and Down Area. The consultation process is now open xa0for comments from residents and groups in the district.

dn_screenCllr Clarke said:xa0″Community Planning was one of the new local government functions devolved to Councils on 1st April 2015 and will identify long term objectives / coordinated actions to address issues such as health provision, job creation, environment, education support, safety and tourism promotion.

“It is important that you have your say on how this plan is shaped and to facilitate this Newry Mourne and Down will host a number of workshops across the area over the next few weeks. I would encourage as many of you as possible to attend one of the workshops and avail of this opportunity to shape this important plan.

“The draft strategic Community Plan is available to download from the Newry Mourne and Down Council website along with a short survey questionnaire which includes the opportunity to provide comments.There is plenty of time to respond as the consultation period will remain open until Wednesday 25 January 2017.”
