Results: 0-9 – 2-16

Bright started the 2020 season with a well deserved win over Glasdrumman GAC in what was a very bizarre game.

After just fifteen minutes, Glasdrumman had more men sent off than points on the score board. Several striking offences on Bright players sent 3 Mourne Men to the sideline with straight red cards and a 4th man sent off shortly before the half after receiving 2 yellows.

Early points from Cailean Toner, Pearse McCarthy, Gareth George and a sensational goal from Christopher Byrne give Bright a comfortable lead of 1-7 to 0-3 at half time.

Bright continued with a strong performance at beginning of the second half, amplified by the 4-men advantage over Glasdrumman. The stamina of a young players Callum Laird, Sam Dinu and Jack Mc Laughlin showed against a much bigger and more physical Glassdrumman team.

Shortly into the second period Declan Trainor seen red after a push on a Glasdrumman player.

A heroic block from Cailean Toner stopped a goal opportunity which would have put Glasdrumman within 4 points of Bright with 15 minutes to play followed by a second Bright goal from a hard working Declan Burns.

Coming up on time, a somewhat deflated Glasdrumman allowed Bright to edge into a comfortable lead.

The Final Score Bright 2-16 Glasdrumman 0-9.

This was a very promising start to the season for a well-disciplined Bright side.
