St Malachy’s High School Students Enjoy Track And Field Successes

Students from St Malachy’s High School in Castlewellan are celebrating success having taken part in the Track & Field District Championships held last Thursday in the Mary Peters Track, Belfast.

Pictured are Ronan Mooney (left), Mrs O’Neill (centre) and Justin Clarke (right).Ronan won bronze in the long jump and Justin won bronze in the 200m final. Ronan also qualified for the 100m final, placing 5th.

Both boys were part of the St Malachy’s High School team who competed in other events at the District Championships. Other notable performances were:-
* xa05th/21 Ciaran Lundy Year 8 boys High Jump
* xa06th/21 Tiernan McEvoy Year 8 boys High Jump
* xa05th/23 Ciaran Hunter Year 8 boys shot
* xa05th/19 Joe O’Boyle Year 9 boys High jump and 7th in Year 9 boys Long Jump.
