St John's GAC Notes For 23 March 2014

Training for the Under 8s is on Tuesday evenings at 6.30pm.xa0 The Under 10s & Under 12’s training is on Wednesday evening at 6.30pm and training for the Under 6’s continues on Thursday evenings at 6.30pm.xa0 All previous and new members are welcome writes Eugene O’Boyle.

The first Year 6 Blitz will be on Saturday 12 April.xa0 The Blitz for P4’s and P6’s will be on Saturday 28 April.xa0 Venue details to follow.

This weekend see the clubrooms host the play “Separate Beds” by Sam Cree which is being held on Friday and Saturday night.xa0 The cast and crew have been busy putting in all the hard work to get the production ready.xa0 This promises to be another great show by our local players which shouldn’t be missed!xa0 Tickets are £7 each and are now on sale for both shows from any committee member or you can pay at the door on each night.xa0 Doors open at 7.30pm and the shows start at 8.00pm.xa0 Check out the St Johns GAC Drama Group Drumnaquoile page on Facebook for up to date information.dn_screen

Every player can harbour ambitions of walking out on the hallowed turf at Croke Park.xa0 Our secretary, Kevin McGlynn, did just that at half time during the club football finals on St Patrick’s Day.xa0 This was through our involvement in the GAA Healthy Clubs initiative of which we are one of eighteen clubs in Ireland leading in that project.

The Action Cancer Big Bus will be coming to our club on Saturday 21 June.xa0 Services provided by the Big Bus include digital breast screening, health promotion and health checks for men and women.

Action Cancer will also be at the club on Tuesday 1 July to carry out men’s MOT health checks.

The next committee meeting is on Monday 31 March 2014 at 9.00pm.

Lotto numbers were 1, 2, 18 and 24. Anna Maire & Iona and Mike McArdle were £10 winners. The jackpot next week is £2,600.
