Scorers: Darren Savage 0-3 (0-1 ’45, 0-1f), Marty Keenan 0-1 (0-1f), Conor Gilmore 0-2 (0-1f), Conor Flanagan 0-2, Jonty Addis 0-1 and Danny McKay 0-1. Their final league game of the season is on Friday 29 August when they are away to Bosco.

dn_screenBefore that, their attention turns to the group stages of the Intermediate Football Championship. After losing to Liatroim in their first group game in June, they now face Teconnaught on Saturday 16 August at 2.00pm in Downpatrick in their second group game and then play Glasdrumman on Saturday 23 August at 5.30pm in Mayobridge.

The Minors are next in action when they travel to Clann Na Derg on Tuesday 19 August in the quarter final stages of the knock-out plate competition.

The Under-14’s started the group stages of the East Down Under-14 C championship on Monday 11 August when they hosted Darragh Cross at Pairc Naomh Eoin. Score details in next weeks notes. In the following weeks they then face Drumaness (away), Teconnaught (home) and Bright (away).

The Under-12’s travelled to Drumaness last Wednesday but lost out to the home side. They had no fixture on Sunday but resume their East Down Summer League campaign with a home tie against Kilclief on Sunday 17 August.

On Saturday our Under-10’s went to Drumaness blitz.  They faced St Paul’s in their opening game which turned out to be one of the best flowing games the Johnnies played all year with great play from everyone, unfortunately however they ended up losing by a goal. Our next game was against the home team Drumaness and again St. Johns lifted their game and played some fantastic football coming out convincing winners.  Our final game was against a strong Loughinisland side who had been performing quite well all day and although the Johnnies played hard Loughinisland came out winning by a goal.
