The Mill At Ballydugan To Host Splinters Big Charity Fundraising Bash With 14 Bands and Singers

It’s gonna be another cracker! The third Splinter’s Bash is on its way.

Splinter’s Bash is taking place again at The Mill, Ballydugan, on Saturday 7th June starting at 2pm and the musical talent from around the district will be out in force to support two great local charities, Life Change Changes Lives and Good Morning Down.

Aidan Milligan, a well-known local drummer/percussionist, has pulled together an organising group and there is no shortage of performers willing to play in support of these two local charities.

Killyleagh-based singer Conal Montgomery, a superb ambassador for mental health causes said: “My rock group Black Moon Dog will be performing there and we are delighted to be able to take part in this charitable fundraising event.

“The Mill is a great venue and and this is going to be a day – and a night – to remember. There is big support from local musicians which is brilliant. There will be all sorts of music played on the day so everyone’s taste will be catered for.

“Come along and support this event… and if it rains we can go indoors and play on.”

Dan McEvoy, Manager of Good Morning Down said: “It’s absolutely brilliant that the managing committee are supporting us. We are a hard-working charity based at the Down Business Centre.

“We have over 200 clients who we contact on a regular basis and we make over 20,000 calls per year. Our clients are those who may suffer from loneliness or experience social exclusion. We are there to friend them. The extra funds go a long way to keeping us ticking.

“My group. Evasion, are heading up the day and we are happy to let the organising committee with Aidan ‘Splinter’ Milligan and co share our sound equipment with the bands etc.

“The event will be free to enter but people can made a donation to the charities. There will be a great atmosphere here on the day. Don’t miss it!”

Ailish Teague, Operations Manager of Life Change Changes Lives, said: “We are delighted Splinter’s Bash is supporting local mental health charities.

“Life Change Changes Lives extends a heart-felt thank you to Splinyer and and Conal for organising this event.

“There is an exciting line-up of talent raising vital funds for LCCL’s Pop Up Art programme which works with addiction and mental health issues. And Good Morning Down addresses social isolation.

“We are grateful to all involved and hope everyone comes out and supprts these two local charitable causes. The support will make all the difference.”
