South Down MLA Sean Rogers Completes Geoscientist/MLA Pairing Project

Exploring life on the Hillxa0 South Down MLA Sean Rogers pictured with Dr Jenny McKinley from Queen’s University Belfast celebrate National Science and Engineering Week with the completion of the Politics Plus pairing project at the Northern Ireland Assembly. The pair have been working on a research project looking at the links between health and the natural environment over the past couple of months. The exchange initiative aims to enhance understanding between eight elected representatives in Northern Ireland and select Geoscientists from both Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland. The scheme intends to help MLA’s establish links with active scientists and help scientists understand political decision-making and how they can input to policy development.
