Small Grants For Groups Available For Covid-19 Support

Food for Life Get Togethers: EMERGENCY COVID-19 SMALL GRANTS.

Whilst Food For Life Get Togethers community small grants offer is paused, our programme has made available Emergency COVID-19 small grant fund to assist with community led responses that are centred around food, growing & social isolation responses. We are seeking applications to the value of £1,000.

To enable us to get this money into our communities where it is needed quickly, the turnaround time for applications is short. 

Application open:           Monday 20th April 2020 (Today)

Closing date:                   Tuesday 28th April 2020 @ 5.30pm

Successful grants paid:  Thursday 7th May 2020.

At this time we have 12x grants available in Northern Ireland (location conditions apply. Dependant on the number of applications we could potentially receive, we reserve the right to close the application round early. Please find attached the application form which provides full information and for your ease the application criteria have been bullet-pointed below so that you can ascertain at a glance whether this is a grant you’d be interested to apply for below. xa0

Funding criteria:

  • Initiatives responding to localised food poverty and food insecurity, e.g. community led food aid, food supplies and distribution.
  • Initiatives that remotely connect people and groups through good food cooking, growing or connections.
  • Equipment costs for community led responses (e.g. digital support, packaging, refrigeration, cooking, PPE requirements)
  • Transport costs, e.g. of food supplies, petrol, volunteer costs. 
  • Initiatives responding to reducing experience of social isolation and loneliness through good food-based activity (e.g. digital equipment and training, virtual activities, a chance to chat on a doorstep).
  • Growing food, initiatives that respond to community needs to cook, grow and connect through good food, (e.g. doorstep food deliveries or community collection of seed & soil to grow, digital growing support).
