Sinn Féin’s Naomi Bailie has this week welcomed forthcoming road re-surfacing works to take place at the Ballydugan Road near Downpatrick.

Commenting on the major works beginning this weekend, the Downpatrick election candidate said the section of road had been the site of numerous road traffic collisions in recent times.

She added: “This Road is notorious for serious traffic collisions so I welcome the investment by Roads Service which will undoubtedly improve road conditions for drivers and save lives.

“Once work is complete road users will experience the long term benefits of this investment.”
