Sinn Fein Reps Propose More Improvements To Dunleath

There Are Proposed Plans to Build On Dunleath Park’s Success says Downpatrick Sinn Féin Councillors

Sinn Féin Councillors Philip Campbell and Oonagh Hanlon have welcomed the completion of the new accessible entrance to Dunleath Park from St Patrick’s Avenue and are calling for further investment to unlock the site’s full potential.

The Downpatrick Councillor Philip Campbell said: “The popularity of the Skate Park and Pump Track shows there is strong demand for high quality recreation and leisure facilities in the heart of our town.

“Building on the success of the Skate Park and Pump Track, Sinn Féin have submitted proposals to enhance the existing walking track.

Downpatrick Sinn Féin councillors Oonagh Hanlon and Philip Campbell welcome the developments at Dunleath Park and the new entrance.

“This will establish a dedicated family play area, transform the all-weather pitch into a flexible community events space and include a new accessible entrance from St.Patrick’s Avenue creating an inclusive walking and activity loop.

“Your Downpatrick Sinn Féin team want to create a vibrant space for families, walkers, runners and community events, while delivering wider economic benefits for the town.”

Downpatrick Councillor Oonagh Hanlon added: “Dunleath has the potential to become one of Downpatrick’s greatest community assets.

“By establishing a family place area, dedicated community events space and a new accessible entrance will unlock that potential, creating a welcoming space for the whole community.

“These proposals represent a real investment in our community and the future of Downpatrick, creating a welcoming and accessible space for everyone.”
