Sinn Féin Councillor Willie Clarke Welcomes Footpath Improvements In Newcastle

Newry Mourne and Down District Council Councillor Willie Clarke (Sinn Féin) has welcomed a commitment that remedial work will be carried out on the footpath located at the Tollymore/ Bryansford Rd Junction in Newcastle.

He said this decision will facilitate residents who are currently unable to use the footpath because of mobility problems. He added that there were a number of other footpaths in the immediate area that required drop kerbs to be installed also.

Cllr Clarke added:xa0″Following representations from residents in the area, I lobbied Transport Ni on their behalf requesting that the footpath be made user friendly for those with mobility problems and particularly for those who use walking aids as the footpath is not fit for purpose.”
