Simon And Garfunkel Tribute Coming To Down Arts Centre

In 2011, two old school friends, Dan Hayes and Pete Richards, decided to create a theatre show to celebrate the music of their favourite artists Simon and Garfunkel… then fast-forward to 2016 and they are now wowing audiences worldwide with their stunning tribute performances and will be bringing their show to the Down Arts Centre on Saturday 23 April.

Legends Simon and Garfunkel.
Legends Simon and Garfunkel – come along to the tribute show at the Down Arts Centre and enjoy their music.

The show is a multi-layered theatre experience which features incredible, accurate live renditions of the iconic songs we all know so well also features images, original footage and interviews with Simon and Garfunkel themselves. The show also features narration written by Victoria Kingston, the author of ‘Simon and Garfunkel; The Definitive Biography’.

Dan Hayes and Pete Richard’s show is not your average tribute show, they do not dress up or try to act like Simon and Garfunkel, but instead pay tribute to the iconic sound that made the duo famous by recreating the perfect harmonies, timings and diction that mesmerised a generation.

Since their emergence into the entertainment world Dan and Pete, collectively known as ‘Bookends’ (the name is taken from Simon and Garfunkel’s third studio album) have enjoyed huge success and performed to sell out audiences across the UK including the 2014 and 2015 Edinburgh Fringe Festivals.

Hear songs such as ‘Homeward Bound’, ‘Mrs Robinson’ and ‘Bookends’ own powerful, yet subtle arrangement of the classic ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’. The show is a must see for any true music lovers with Bookends being, without doubt the most authentic sounding tribute to Simon and Garfunkel in the entire world.

The performance at Down Arts Centre will take place on Saturday 23 April with tickets priced at £14 with £12 concession.
