Shannon Welcomes New Greenway Extension

Jim Shannon MP for Strangford has welcomed the news that the Greenway will be extended out to Newtownards from Comber.

He said: “The initiative for DFI costing £75 000 is between three council areas and this is great news as those who want to cycle from Ards to work in Belfast will be able to do so in a safe manner.

“It also means that a walk to Comber for those who are out for an evening stroll will be a safer walk. This is encouragement for people to live a healthier lifestyle.

“The news that this funding will soon come to the Council to activate xa0the plans is great news and welcomed by all in the Borough who will be able to take advantage of the new scheme.”
