Shannon Welcomes Dereliction Funding For Ards

STRANGFORD MP Jim Shannon (DUP) has welcomed the funding for derelict buildings forxa0Ards.dn_screen

He said: “It is fantastic news thatxa0Ards Borough Council have been succesful in securing fundingxa0for derelict buildings in places such as Court Street which used toxa0be a thriving area of the town and has now become somewhat drab.

“This funding of £111 000 willxa0go some way in making a difference to the streets and in additionxa0to the public realm funding that has been allocated, things are looking up for Newtownards town as well asxa0comber and Donaghadee.

“We have managed to buck the trend by having new shops open in the town and this willxa0hopefully make the town more attractivexa0and allowsxa0morexa0visitors to seexa0just what we have to offer. My sincere congratulations to all those involved in bidding for thisxa0funding – the town thanks you.!”
