Shannon Condemns Car Hijack Near Comber

Hijacking of car on Comber-Ards Dual Carriageway.

Strangford MP Jim Shannon has called for the General Public to give any information that would help to catch the three men who hijacked a vehicle on the Comber to Ards Dual Carriageway and forced a man to take them to Bangor.

Jim Shannon, Strangford MP has asked the public to contact the police if they have info about the car-jacking near Comber.

Mr Shannon said: “This was a potentially serious incident, when the driver who was threatened with a knife, could have been injured or worse and this incident has traumatised this driver.

“To have men appear and threaten your very life is simply horrible and I hope that the victim will have access to support to help him deal with this.

“To say that this is unacceptable is an understatement and any help that the General Public can give would be of great value to the PSNI. Therefore, I urge anyone with any information however small contact the PSNI and pass this information on to them.

“Failing that, please contact my office and I am happy to forward any information on. The sooner these men are caught and prosecuted and the message is sent that our community works together to combat these actions, the better.”
