Shannon Concerned At Dog Shooting In Scrabo Estate

Dog Shot at Scrabo Estate in Newtownards by police

Strangford MP Jim Shannon MP called on the PSNI and local Councils to wok together to deal with XL Bully Dogs.

Strangford DUP MP Jim Shannon has expressed concern about XL bully dogs and has asked the police and councils to see what more can be done.

He said: “The unfortunate shooting of an XL bully bogs in the Scrabo Estate in Newtownards after attacking two adults is very worrying.

“I do know that there have been complaints lodged with Council and that lots of people who live in the area have expressed concern.

“Reports coming from those who witnessed the incident state that the PSNI Tactical Response Team had to shoot this dog up to five times to take control of the incident, in order to restore calm and safety.

“I am asking the PSNI and Council to review the incident and to see what more can be done to ensure better safety for all in local communities.”
