Sewer Works Start In Donaghadee For Two Days

Donaghadee sewer works begin as part of major improvement


NI Water will undertake essential sewer improvement work in early February on High Street, Donaghadee, as part of its ongoing Sewer Improvement Programme.

The work – which will require the closure of High Street between New Street and Manor Street – will be carried out at night to reduce disruption in the area.

Work is due to get underway onxa0Wednesday 5thxa0Februaryxa0and is expected to be completed within two nights.

A diversion route via New Street, Moat Street, Newtownards Road, Cotton Road, Gransha Road South, Upper Gransha Road, Movilla Road, Killaughey Road, Parade and Bridge Street will be signposted.

As part of NI Water’s wider Sewer Improvement Programme,xa0wastewater network improvementsxa0are currently ongoingxa0at Shore Road, Portaferryxa0withxa0further sewerxa0upgradesxa0planned for later in the year at Bridge Street and Copeland Bay in Donaghadee.

This work will involve the construction of new manholes followed by relining of sewers andxa0is expected to getxa0underway in spring 2025.

Sewer investigation/CCTV works are also planned this year in Donaghadee, Kircubbin and Millisle, which could result in further sections of the wastewater network needing upgraded.

NI Water and our contractor GEDA Construction appreciate work of this nature may be disruptive and thank the public for their patience and cooperation as we complete these essential improvements.

The project team appreciates the co-operation of the wider public in ensuring that children do not play in or around any site or machinery.

Working areas will have warning signs in place to protect the public from any hazards. The public are advised to stay out of these working areas for their own safety.

Updates on associated traffic management requirements will be communicated when subsequent works are programmed.
