SERC To Provide 30 Free Places For Unemployed Residents In Drive To Success

South Eastern Regional College (SERC) is promoting a programme designed to help local unemployed residents attain accredited qualifications and FREE driving lessons. SERC in conjunction with DSD has launched ‘Driving To Success’.

Thirty residents from the Downpatrick Neighbourhood Renewal area aged seventeen and over will be put in the driving seat and will be given the opportunity to pick up the pace on their own careers with eighteen free driving lessons and an opportunity to obtain a full driving licence.

This unique and innovative programme is an intensive fifteen week course offering the unemployed and underemployed an opportunity to gain accredited vocational qualifications in areas including oil boiler maintenance, retail, photography, DJ-ing and beauty therapy as well as recognised qualifications in IT, employability skills and personal development. The programme will place participants on the right track and steer them to success.
