SERC Launches Data Analytics Academy

Get A New Career In Data Analytics Funded Through The SERC Data Analytics Academy

South Eastern Regional College (SERC) are recruiting graduates in any discipline, for a Data Analytics Academy commencing 15 November.

Fully funded by Department for the Economy under Skill Up, the Data Analytics Academy, delivered by SERC, offers graduates an opportunity to gain skills and qualifications, including MTA introduction to Programming using Python; MTA Database Admin Fundamentals and CMI Level 3 in Project Management, to enable them to pursue a career within the IT sector.  

The Future is Digital: Debbie Scott, Programme Manager, SERC, who is recruiting graduates from any discipline for 21-week Data Analytics training, fully funded by the Department for the Economy under Skill Up. The programmes offer graduates an opportunity to gain skills and qualifications to pursue a career within the IT sector along with £150 per week training allowance.

Debbie Scott, Flexible Skills Manager at SERC said: “The Data Analytics Academy will offer graduates, who may have never previously considered a career in IT, the opportunity to gain industry relevant qualifications and work experience within the IT sector, as well as a weekly training allowance of £150 per week during the 21-week programme.

“Training will take place 9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday for nine weeks (online through a virtual classroom) followed by ten weeks placement with a local IT or technology company. No previous experience in IT is needed but applicants must be at least 18 years old, be eligible to work in the UK and have a degree in any discipline.”

She added, “Whilst many sectors of the Northern Ireland economy have experienced significant challenges due to the impact of Covid, the IT sector continues to grow and can offer real employment opportunities for participants on this programme.”

Candidate selection will be based upon compliant application and scoring from a psychometric assessment.
