Seaforde Women’s Institute Hold AGM

Seaforde Women’s Institute held its AGM on the 8th September 2025

Judith Wainright of the Seaforde Women’s Institure said: “It was so good to see all the ladies back from their summer break

“The AGM was chaired by Ada Elliott, a member of Rathfriland Institute and Area Executive member for Iveagh WI.

“The New committee was voted in and our new President for 25/26 is Annabel Cleland

“Competitions were judged and the Balbriggan Shield was won by Tracey Lambert, and in second place was Mandy McCandless, and in third place was Jennifer Dougherty. Ada presented the Balbriggan shield to Tracey.”

The annual competition was won by Hilda Fleming {who apologised for not being present}  2nd Margaret Broome 3rd Margaret McCall

Judith said that the monthly competition was won by Cilla Green, second was Mandy McCandless and in third place was Annabel Cleland.

Birthdays celebrated in July were Debbie Marno; in August, Joan Law; and September Margaret McDowell-Willcox

The Ballot was won by Mandy McCandless. Well done Mandy!

“Our next meeting will be at the YFC Hall on Monday 13th October at 7.30pm:, added Judith.

“However, for those of you who would like a bit of fun we are having line dancing lessons on Tuesday 30th September and Tuesday 7th October YFC Hall 7.00 -9pm, £3.00 entry fee.

“Everybody is welcome, come along and let’s get together for some fun as the nights are drawing in.

This is leading up to our Harvest Hoe Down .Line, dancing and fun with apple tart supper on Tuesday 28th October.

“Our next meeting is on 6th October 2025 in the YFC Hall in Seaforde at 7.30pm
