SDLP Seeks Communication Manager

Job Vacancy: SDLP Communications ManagerThe SDLP is seeking a Communications Manager to lead its media team and head up activity in communications. The successful candidate will have a degree or equivalent qualification and relevant experience for at least 10 years in print and broadcast media.xa0 Relevant experience in corporate communication and public relations may be considered an advantage. An extensive knowledge of the Northern Ireland media is required, as is the ability to think strategically and to produce high quality material against tight deadlines. The person appointed will be self-motivated and will demonstrate qualities of leadership and organisation. xa0He/She must also be committed to the SDLP’s social democratic vision for a Better Ireland. This is a senior post which will require commitment, initiative, leadership and drive. The work will mainly be based at Parliament Building, Belfast, but flexibility will be required and so the Communications Manager may from time to time work from home or at any site where the Party needs the provision of a specific service. There will be a remuneration package to reflect the importance of the post. The post will be offered for a one year period, subject to a six month review.
