scenic drumlins of Saintfield.  Free drinks will be waiting for the thirsty competitors at the finish line and burgers and hot dogs will be available at very reasonable prices for those who have built up an appetite.  There will be prizes for the first males and females past the post and certificates for all competing children on the family jog.  Fancy dress is optional but there is a prize for the participant with the best outfit. ASDA Downpatrick has been very generous in its sponsorship of this event. “The clues for the Treasure Hunt and entry forms for the Duck Hunt will be on sale at the Fun Run in the morning and at Jackson’s on the Main Street from 1pm.  The Treasure Hunt commences at the Library around 2pm and the prize draw for the winner will take place around 430pm at Jackson’s.  The clues and answers are both entertaining and educational so the children will love the challenge. “The Duck Hunt is somewhat less challenging but equally entertaining. The cute and colourful little ducks will be hiding in many of the shop windows and all one has to do is note the name of the shop on the entry form and return it to Jackson’s before 5.30pm.  The prize-winner will be announced soon afterwards. “The 1798 Memorial Garden will be welcoming a coach tour from Down County Museum around 3pm.  There will be a very interesting talk on the events leading up to the 1798 rebellion, the formation of the Society of United Irishmen, a description of the Battle of Saintfield and the significance that the outcome of the rebellion had on the social and political future of Ireland.  A lone piper, a few combatants and the ghost of Betsy Gray will be on hand to set the scene. “The Saintfield Town Regeneration Committee have arranged fine weather so it will be a day of variety and family fun for all.” Details of the events can be found on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/discover.saintfield and on the website, www.discoversaintfield.com.]]>
