Run Mucker Run is part of a growing trend for obstacle course racing across the country, the event on 11 April 2015 will be the second of its kind to be organised by Run Mucker Run on Kirk Road on the outskirts of Ballymoney after the first being very successful with over 400 ‘muckers’ taking part.

This event is open to anyone over the age of 18 and involves a lap or two of a specially designed 5K course, complete with around 30 manmade and natural obstacles.

Melvin Dewart event organiser said: “It will be a gruelling test of strength, stamina and mental determination, the idea is to encourage team-work and camaraderie among participants. We have chosen Cancer Focus Northern Ireland as our nominated charity this year as it is a local charity and cancer has affected every family in some way or another.”

Cancer Focus NI Challenge Events Manager, Emma McArdle, said: “We are delighted to be the beneficiaries of Run Mucker Run in April 2015, it will be an exciting event and we hope to raise lots of funds from participants taking part in this difficult but fun challenge.”
