5000+ people have already signed up to Rory’s Staycations Ireland breaks.

Rory King (29) from Downpatrick is four months into his new business, marketing staycations across Ireland, and is doing very, very well.

The young entrepreneur who has worked in international sales for 10 years spoke to Down News and explained that his innovative new business aims to disrupt the accommodation market and put hard-earned money back into his customers’ pockets.

Rory said: “For Premium members (only £10 per year) I will send my members 10-20 special offers each week.. typically the average saving for each offer will be £40-100.

“I cater for all demographics – solo travellers, couples, families and large groups!

“By cutting out the middleman and facilitating direct bookings, I will be able to beat the price of any Online travel company by typically 15% – even the biggest ones.

“The £10 annual subscription fee really is a no-brainer and some members have already saved £100’s.

“I once worked for a French company that charged a whopping 25% commission on all accommodation bookings.

“Many of these household brand names are not even Irish or UK-based companies” Rory explained. “I spotted a gap in the market to put consumers first and my customers are really responding to what I am offering.

“Take a 3-night stay over costing £500 in a hotel as offered by many online platforms. Our offers (at no loss of profit to the hotel, B&B etc) can reduce that figure by 15% (or more) making it approximately £425 which is a significant saving for the customer.

“On my list I have offers with 150-200 Irish accommodations… this ranges from 40+ hotels, the No1 B&B in Ireland (in Doolin, Co. Clare, and some of the most beautiful self-catering accommodations) and around 10 glamping sites. I have a few in County Down such as Dan’s Wee Cottage in Dromara in Crossgar and Mourne Luxury Glamping close to the Silent Valley which are very popular.

“I’ve had roughly 1000 accommodations get in touch who have been interested in working with me. So I’m delighted with the progress so far in the short time-frame I’ve been operating. You can sign up for FREE, but to avail of the full benefits which presents 80% more offers, I would recommend signing up for the Premium Package which is only £10 a year.”

There are over 20,000 likes on his Facebook page which he just set up in March this year. “Yes. It has definitely taken off. Because of travel and health restrictions etc around Covid-19, people are very much opting to stay at home and have a break nearer their doorstep. It make’s sense!

“Rory’s Staycations Ireland, as a fledgling Irish company, is providing cheaper accommodation top tourist areas across Ireland. From Cork to Kerry and Crossgar to Coleraine and we cover every county in Ireland. It has certainly penetrated the accommodation sector.”

To date Rory’s Staycations Ireland has over 5000 members and the number is growing rapidly. The annual subscription for the premium membership is just £10 a year to register and to enjoy the benefits of the great offers.

“A family heading off for a long weekend looking at a cost of £300 in a B&B could have that reduced by £45 to £255 with the B&B getting the same profit. It is a win-win for the customer and the accommodation provider,” said Rory.
