South Down SDLP MLA Seán Rogers has helped to improve road safety at Seaview in Castlewellan.

Mr Rogers said: “Local residents approached me as an electricity pole continued to block their sight lines when exiting from Seaview onto the Dublin Road.

“The Dublin Road is extremely busy and despite the speed limits, traffic still tends to speed.

“Following representations to NIE and a site meeting, an agreement was made to relocate the pole further back from the Dublin Road giving motorists an unrestricted view into Castlewellan.

“This is very welcome news and I wish to thank NIE for dealing with the issue so swiftly.”
