Rogan Welcomes DoH Decision On Rural Pharmacies

Emma Rogan, Sinn Féin South Down MLA.

Sinn Féin MLA for South Down Emma Rogan has welcomed the news that the Department of Health will continue to fund the Rural Pharmacy Access Scheme for the coming financial year.

The South Down MLA said: “The continuation of the Rural Pharmacy Access Scheme is something Sinn Féin have been advocating and it is to be welcomed.
“Michelle O’Neill’s plan for transformation Health and Wellbeing 2026: Delivering Together recognised the importance of community pharmacy and this scheme provides vital support for pharmacy services in rural communities.
“Whilst the continuation of the scheme is welcome, community pharmacy still faces many challenges.
“It is important the Department of Health works with CPNI to address the ongoing challenges including finding agreement on a new community pharmacy contract.”
