Ritchie Questions Minister On Aggregate Credit Levy Scheme For Construction Industry

dn_screenSDLP MP for South Down Margaret Ritchie has questioned Business, Innovation and Skills Minister Nick Boles in the Commons on the reinstatement of the Aggregate Credit Levy Scheme for Northern Ireland’s construction industries and has secured a meeting with the Minister to discuss this further.

Ms Ritchie said:xa0“There is a real issue of cash flow in our construction sector, which is stifling the industry and delaying or preventing projects. I reminded the Minister of this in the Commons today and urged him to meet with his colleagues in the Treasury and HMRC to discuss the reinstatement of the Aggregate Credit Levy Scheme.

“Reintroducing this scheme could help to tackle the obstructions in cash flow in our construction industries and help much needed developments to get off the ground and actually be brought to completion. I look forward to meeting with the Minister to discuss further how we can reinvigorate Northern Ireland’s construction industry.”
