Rice Welcomes Road Improvements At Drumaroad

Rice welcomes £350,000 investment by DFI Road Service for resurfacing of Ballynahinch Road, Drumaroad

 Sinn Féin Cllr John Rice has welcomed the resurfacing of the Ballynahinch Road outside Drumaroad Village.

He said: ‘This resurfacing work is greatly welcomed. I have been in regular contact with the DFI Road Service for a number of months now trying to secure this much-needed work.’

“The Ballynahinch road was in a very worrying condition and has been for some time now, it was my opinion that this road should have taken priority due to the busy nature the road.’

“It was also my and residents of this roads believe that if this work was not carried out a serious accident would have been very likely especially coming into the dangerous winter months.

“This work has already got underway and is expected to be completed by 16th November with a total of £350,000 being invested into making this 2.7km stretch safe for commuters and locals once more.

“This work will mean diversions will be in place from 8 am to 6 pm Monday to Friday until this necessary work is completed although access for local residents will be maintained.”
