Our U-12’s and Over-35’s were both successful as they lifted trophies in St John’s and An Riocht. Our Senior team capped a fine season in the league with a victory over Loughinisland which confirmed a top six finish for them writes John Murphy.Kyla Trainor and Orla Boyle performed heroics in the Red and Black as Down Ladies won their way to an All-Irelandxa0Final.

And finally the Fundraising Committee really came up trumps with the Summer Festival… from the juvenile disco, magic show, reptile show, Johnny Brooks, the Wolfe Tones to RGU Down Through The Ages it has all been a great success.

On all fronts it was a lot of hard work which made this weekend’s events happen and everyone should be proud of their endeavors. Well done!

Another busy weekend coming up with Championship quarter finals at the club. First up on Friday night under the lights is St Pauls v Killyleagh followed by Dromara v Kilclief in the Junior Championship.

On Saturday Warrenpoint take on Saul in the Intermediate at 4.30pm followed by the main event, Bryansford v Mayobridge in the Senior. It’s not too often big Championship matches come to Downpatrick so take the opportunity to come down and see all the action.
