RGU Club Notes

IT is a sure sign that Winter is approaching when the Focus turns to the Scór writes Collie Quinn.

This week saw the Quiz team take first place in the East Down Semi Final at Dundrum. Lambo, Morgan and Kiwi were the youngest team in the Quiz but came out on top after a great performance.

Joining them in the final will be Katie Quinn inn the Solo Singing. Katie gave a wonderful rendition of “Red is the Rose”.

The Final will be held in Finnis Hall Dromara on November 11th.

This week sees the second semi-final and the club will be represented in the Solo singing as well as the Quiz again

Also this weekend past,  the amalgamated U-21 team went down by 2 points to Rostrevor after a disappointing second half display. No Match this week but there will be a return to action the following week.

The East Down Year 9 Feile came to a close for RGU on Wednesday past when they overcame Saul in a very entertaining game undder the lights at PTR.

U-6 training continues on Saturday’s at 10.30am with the U-8s on at 1.30pm in the Ballymote Centre.

The Hurling foundation course will be  taking place in the club this Saturday – reminder.

The World Championships may be over,  but the Handballers were in action again this week representing Down in the Ulster U-13 doubles. Unfortunately all 3 pairs went down against Monaghan at the Morgan Athletic Grounds in Armagh.

Dates for the Diary: Friday 16th November Annual Presentation Night in The Mill. Sunday 18th is  AGM in the clubrooms. Monday 19th sees the Annual Mass for Deceased members of RGU.

Lotto numbers for this week were 17/25/26/28. No winners with all four or indeed 3 numbers this week. Jackpot now £2000. Nice Lift for Christmas.
