writes John Murphy.xa0All support is welcome for the first match. Juvenile training schedule at PTR on Saturdays. U-8’s at 10.30-11.30am, U-12 Boys at 12.15pm, U-6’s restart on 20 April. Juvenile Girls train on Wed at 7pm and Saturday at 12.30pm. Please ensure that you wear football boots, a mouth guard, proper gear for the weather and bring a water bottle. Also make sure that you are checked into the attendance register held by each manager and bring a £1 please. Anyone who has not paid their membership please do so as soon as possible. The times, venues and teams for the Year-6 Blitz on Saturday 13 April are as follows: RGU will have 2 teams for these blitzes. 10:30am: Downpatrick Harps hosting Ballykinlar, Dromara and Killyleagh. 10:30am: xa0Teconnaught hosting Bryansford, Castlewellan and Downpatrick Gaels. The U-6s will resume training outside at RGU on Saturday 20 April from 10:3 -11:30am. All Juveniles are reminded that mouthguards are mandatory in all training sessions and matches. If you don’t wear one you will not be allowed to play. Gaelic4Girls will be starting on Saturday 20 April 11.30-12.30pm. All U-14 and younger girls who have not played gaelic football before in Downpatrick and surrounding areas will be able to participate in this initiative run by the Ladies Gaelic Football Association. Posters and notes will be sent out to local and surrounding schools during the next few days. If you wish to apply for a Down GAA Gaeltacht grant please contact Maria Collins for a form. They are coming to the club on 24 August – tickets cost £20. There will be a range of other events on the August Bank Holiday weekend, with details to be confirmed.
