THERE will be a range of other events on the August Bank Holiday weekend, details to be confirmed. Also on sale will be tickets for the Irish Brigade on 6 April (£10) and the play ‘The Rare Oul Times’ on 4 May. The season kicks off this week with the Minors and the U16’s starting. First up are the Minors who played Bredagh last night, followed by the U16’s playing at home on Thur at 6.45pm when they face Newry Shamrocks. Next week sees the U14’s play their first match when they play away at Kilcoo on Monday 8 April. Training moves outdoors for the Juveniles this Saturday 6xa0April. U-8’s and U-10’s at 10.30am and Juvenile Girls at 12.30pm, and the U-12 Boys are at 12.15pm. Everyone please bring £1 and a water bottle. There are a few jerseys missing from the juvenile team kits, particularly the U-12s. Could everyone have a look and see if they have one – all our kit jerseys will have a sponsor on them. U-6s had a great Easter party last Saturday at the club which ended with Collie Quinn naming our new mascot Hoopie. The U-6’s recommence outdoors on 20xa0April. Gaelic4Girls will be starting on Saturday xa020 April 11.30am-12.30pm. All U-14 and younger girls in Downpatrick and surrounding areas will be able to participate in this initiative run by the Ladies Gaelic Football Association. Down Minors take onxa0Armaghxa0at the club on Sat at 12 noon, come down and support our county team. If you wish to apply for a Down GAA Gaeltacht grant please contact Maria Collins for a form. Also a wee reminder that enrolment for Irish Language Beginners Class is on 8 April at 7.30pm in RGU. Again contact Maria for more details. This year’s RGU Cul Camp will be held in Week One, 1-5 July. Further details will be posted later in year once arrangements have been made.
