dn_screenPolice are appealing for information following the theft of two vehicles during creeper style burglaries in the Castlewellan area in the early hours of Monday  27 October.

Detective Inspector Debbie Eakin explained: “At approximately 1.45am, police received a report that entry had been gained to a house in the Morrows Hill area of Castlewellan. The keys of a grey Mercedes were taken and the car was then stolen.

“The vehicle was later recovered in a laneway in the Ballylough Road area. Just after 3:30am, entry was also gained to a house in the Dundrinne Road area of Castlewellan. The keys of a blue Audi were taken and the car was then stolen. The vehicle has not yet been recovered.

“We are investigating a possible link between both these incidents and I would appeal to anyone who saw these vehicles being driven in suspicious circumstances, or anyone with information, to contact police on the non-emergency number 101. Alternatively, information about crime can be given to the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
