Police Seize Haul Of Cannabis In Newcastle

PSNI officers from Newcastle’s Neighbourhood Policing Team have seized cannabis plants worth an estimated street value of over £10,000. Other drug related equipment was also seized following the search of a house in the Burrendale Park Road area on Friday 17th June. A 31-year old man has been charged with cultivating cannabis and will appear at Downpatrick Magistrates Court at a date to be confirmed. As is normal procedure the charges will be reviewed by the Public Proscecution Service. Sergeant James McIlveen said, “We always act on the information we receive, and members of the public can be confident that any information they give to us is taken seriously and treated responsibly.” [caption id="attachment_1108" align="alignleft" width="300" caption="Police have seized £10,000 worth of cannabis in Newcastle.
