Police Seek Info On Downpatrick Sex Attack

Detectives have re-issued their appeal for information following the serious sexual assault on Sampson’s Lane Downpatrick

Detectives investigating a serious sexual assault on a teenage girl in Downpatrick last month are issuing a fresh appeal for information.

The girl was walking in the Samson’s Lane area, off the Killough Road, at approximately 8.30am on Tuesday 24 June when she was attacked by an unknown male.

The suspect is described as a white male, around 15 or 16 years old with dirty blond hair, dressed in black clothing.



Detective Superintendent Lindsay Fisher from PSNI Public Protection Branch said: “Our dedicated detectives in the Rape Crime Unit continue to work at pace to progress the investigation, and we are providing specialist support to the young girl.

“To aid our enquiries, I am asking anyone who may have been in the area between 8.30am and 9am, or who has any other information that could help our investigation – no matter how insignificant it may seem – to please contact us by calling 101, quoting reference 353 24/06/25.
