Police Investigate Engine Thefts At Newcastle Harbour

POLICE in Newcastle are investigating a spate of thefts of outboard motors from boats moored in the harbour.

Four theftsxa0have beenxa0reported to police who believe the engines were all taken some time overnight on Monday 16 September.xa0A white 3.5hp Mariner, a silver 10hp Honda and a black and red Suzuki 3.3hp engine were amongst those stolen.xa0The fourth outboard motor was a silver/grey Yamaha 8hp outboard engine with a prominent scrape around a foot long on the starboard (right) side of the engine hood.
Police are appealing for anyone who saw anything suspicious at the Harbour or who has any information about the thefts to contact them at Newcastle on 0845 600 8000. Alternatively information may be passed on anonymously via the Crimestoppers number 0800 555 111.
