Police Continue Crash Investigation On Fatal RTA

Police will today (Thursday 29th October) be conducting further investigations into the road traffic collision that claimed the life of 87 year old Beryl Carson.

The two vehicle road traffic collision took place on Thursday 27th August around 2pm on the Portaferry Road, with the road closed between Kircubbin and Greyabbey following the incident.

A black Citroen C3 and a silver Lexus were involved in the collision. Beryl, who was the front seat passenger of the Citroen was taken to hospital but sadly died as a result of her injuries. The female driver and three children inside the Citroen were taken to hospital for treatment to their injuries. The female driver of the Lexus was also taken to hospital following the incident.

The Portaferry Road, Greyabbey will be closed from 10.15am this morning between Greyabbey village and Inishargy Road in Kircubbin. Diversions will be in place, with the closure expected to remain until mid-afternoon.

Police want to hear from anyone who may have been on the road at the time of the collision or captured dash-cam footage, which would have been a very busy time of the day, to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 984 27/08/20.
