Police Check Alleged Arson Attack In Cullyhanna

Police inxa0Newtownhamilton are appealing for information following a report of arson at residential premises at the Skerriff Road area of Cullyhanna on Tuesday 19thxa0May.

Sergeant Reynolds said: “Sometime between 2am and 3am, it was reported that a house had been set on fire in the area. Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service attended and extinguished the fire. Thankfully no one was inside the property during the incident.

“Enquiries are ongoing and at this stage, the fire is being treated as deliberate ignition.

“We are appealing to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area at the time of the incident to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 434 19/05/20. Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.”
