Police Arrest Man Following Burglaries In Downpatrick Area

Local police investigating the theft of a number of items from commercial premises in the Downpatrick area arrested a 21-year-old man.

On 13 Augus, police received a report that a number of items had been stolen from commercial premises in the Market Street area of the town and on 14 August, police received a report that a number of items had also been stolen from commercial premises in the Ballydugan Road area of the town.

Police carried out a number of follow up enquires and the 21-year-old-man was arrested in connection with these thefts and other thefts in the Ards area. A number of hold-alls containing items were also recovered.

The man was later released on bail pending further enquiries.
