Police Appeal For Dashcam Footage Of Missing JP From Warrenpoint

POLICE UPDATE: Police are requesting drivers who may have been in Warrenpoint town centre or travelling along the dual carriageway leaving Warrenpoint in the direction of Newry during the early hours of  Wednesday 1 January from 3am-4am with dash cam footage to please contact police on 101.

Inspector Frances McCullough said: “We believe some drivers with dash cams in their vehicle may have footage which could potentially assist us with our inquiries into missing teenager JP Smyth who has not been seen since New Year’s Eve.

Police are becoming increasingly concerned for the welfare of missing 15 year old teenager John Paul Smyth (known as JP).

Police are keen to establish the whereabouts of JP Smyth .

“JP was last seen in Warrenpoint town centre at approximately 6.15pm on Tuesday 31 December and we are appealing for anyone who has seen him since then to contact us.

He is described as being tall and of a slim build with brown eyes and short brown hair.  When last seen JP was wearing a black puffa style jacket, beige tracksuit bottoms and white trainers.

Inspector Frances McCullough added; “We are working with Community Search and Rescue in continuous efforts to locate JP and we will exhaust every avenue in order to bring him home safely.

“If anyone has any information about his current whereabouts or who thinks they may have seen him in the last few days please contact police on 101 quoting reference 1876 31/12/19.”
