Police Appeal After Mayobridge Burglary

Detectives in Newry are appealing for information after a burglary at a shop on the Hilltown Road in Mayobridge overnight on Wednesday, 11 April into Thursday, 12 April.

Detective Sergeant Johnston said: “The proprietor of the shop arrived had closed the property atxa010.30pmxa0on thexa0Wednesdayxa0and arrived atxa07.30amxa0yesterday morning (Thursday, 12 April) to find that entry had been forced through the roof.xa0 An ATM machine had a substantial amount of cash removed and items including alcohol and cigarettes were stolen.xa0

“I would appeal for anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious persons or vehicles in the Mayobridge area or along the Newry to Mayobridge Road on the night in question to contact Detectives on the non-emergency number 101 quoting reference 178xa012/04/18.

“Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.”
