Police Appeal After Downpatrick Robbery On Killough Road

dn_screenDetectives in Downpatrick are appealing for information following a robbery in the Killough Road area of the town on Thursday 16 October .

Detective Inspector Debbie Eakin explained: “Sometime between 6.30pm and 8pm, a man was walking along the road in the direction of the town centre when he was approached by two men.

“One of the males asked him for money and when he refused to hand any over, he was punched to the ground. He then got up and gave the culprit cash. Both men then left the scene.

“A 38-year-old male has been arrested and is currently helping police with their enquiries.

“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area and who witnessed any suspicious activity, or anyone with information to contact detectives in Downpatrick on the non-emergency number 101. Alternatively, information about crime can be passed to the Crimestoppers charity anonymously by telephoning 0800 555 111.”
