Police Appeal After Crossgar Late Evening Attack

dn_screenPolice are appealing for information following an assault on the Kilmore Road area of Crossgar on the evening of Sunday 10 August.

Shortly before 10.55pm, police received a report that a man had been assaulted whilst walking along the Kilmore Road. As he was walking along this road a VW Golf drove past him and then turned around and drove back towards him. Three unknown men got out of the xa0vehicle and proceeded to assault him. He sustained slash type injuries to his back and side. He was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.

Police would ask anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who has any information to contact them at Downpatrick on the non-emergency number 101. Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent chairty Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.
